Statement of Purpose
Bharath Nanda Kumar, Executive Batch 2010-2011, IIPM, Bangalore
“Knowledge is power”, am firm believer of this statement. The more one learns, little he knows about a subject, but, better edge he will have over the people who are not learned. An aptitude to tackle a situation lies entirely on how well a person is learned.
With the following statements made, I feel that the success of an organization depends on how knowledgeable its managers are. Management is just not about making money; it’s an art of aligning the technicalities and the interventions which are acting on a system, in such a way that the commotions inside the system subsides and the processes gets stabilized, leading to a smooth execution of task or an objective.
To understand a technical problems prevailing inside a system, formal knowledge dissemination has to happen. I was privilege enough to get such knowledge dissemination in the form of formal Engineering Graduation in the field of Information Science and Engineering. In today’s world, the world lives on data, more the data an organization churns better information it gets, better the information, better will be its strategies and better the strategies, nearer the organization gets to reach its destiny. My final semester project “Jala Rakshak” was the project which realized my dreams and showcased how the processing of a raw data may lead to the creation of meaningful information and prevent disasters like “Fish Kill”. The project was recognized by Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST), a wing of Indian Institute of Science (IISC, Bangalore) and was selected for exhibition in Belgaum, in the year 2007.
NIIT Technologies Ltd (NTL) provided a platform to exhibit my technical skills. I was initially absorbed into R&D department which NTL calls it as Technology Innovation Centre (TIC). I spent my initial one year in developing frameworks and building Web 2.0 applications. Later, I was trained on SAS Business Intelligence tool and was transferred to London, UK to execute Financial Services Authority (FSA) SABRE-II project. After the completion of project, I came back to Bangalore centre and was assigned to work on Cathay Airlines, Warehouse Operating System. Impressed with my work, NIIT Technologies Ltd awarded me with “Excellence Award” in the year 2009.
A management studies offers a wide range of knowledge base, which inculcates various skills and transforms an individual. An art to achieve a lot in least time and to utilize ones efficiency to their full extent is thought by management studies. I was fortunate enough to cherish such management nectars from the best management guru’s from all over the world, through Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM). IIPM provided a platform to get hands-on experience on the subjects which were thought. A business plan creation for one of the e-learning solutions provided a gateway to establish some good network and also to understand the knit and integrities of what goes into a business plan? and what has to be evaluated before proposing a plan? Impressed with the team’s efforts the team got a very good feedback from the project initiator.
With all my views lined up, I seek for a techno-managerial role in my future job prospect, where in, I can consciously apply my technical and managerial knowledge as an Analyst and as a Strategist to realize the visions of the company for which I will be working.
